Based on the research and survey results of the WEGBEREITER exploratory project, the foundations for the future WEGBEREITER MOPI-Lab in rural areas were defined in close consultation with key practitioners. Both areas of action and the main fields of innovation were defined.

This area aims to reduce traffic by creating versatile and lively places that serve as meeting points and hubs.

Main fields of innovation of the mobility lab
- Policy Innovation: The aim is to use learning experiences and evidence from experiments to identify existing gaps and opportunities in policy design for future-oriented mobility in rural areas.
- Governance Innovation: The MOPI Lab will develop new partnerships and coordination mechanisms to improve the implementation and use of mobility services.
- Social innovation: In the context of mobility, opportunities will be created to promote social interaction for people of all ages.
